How do you replace car brake pads?

You can replace your brake pads yourself. You will need to take the tire off and then you can take the caliper off. You will then see the shoes and you can put a c-clamp on the piston of the caliper and push it back and then your ready to put your new pads on.

Yes you can do it your self. First jack up the car on jack stands. After that remove the wheels. Unbolt the calibers off the car. remove the brake pads off the brake calipers. Check to see if the rotors need to be replaced. Install the new brake pads. bolt everything back on. And check the black fluid.

Basically all you do is remove the wheel, then the caliper, and finally the old pads. The brake piston is then compressed and the new ones are installed.

Take wheel off, remove caliper, remove old pads, put new pads on, put caliper back on and put wheel on. can be done with socket set.
