Broadcast formats have changed and no longer can you simply connect your tv antennas and receive television. You must have a digital converter box to watch programming. You can purchase one at your local electronics store.

UHF/VHF antennas have no complicated physical parts, so if you find yourself with a broken antenna, check your connections and make sure that, if necessary, your television set is on the proper channel (3 or 4 on most receivers). Remember, a digital receiver is required in the US as of 2010!

If the antenna is physically broken, the best way to repair is by using aluminum foil. Wrap the segements together with the foil and use rubber bands to secure.

There is no real way to repair an antenna, antenna's are outdated and not recommended for use due to a possible electrical surge that may result in fire. I suggest buying a new television, if you want to fix it so badly, check the internet, there are some people who fix old televisions for a living.

This may sound crazy but it has always worked for me. I take a wire hanger and shape it in the form of a diamond and it works. I also add some tin foil to the hanger.

Instead of repairing, I would suggest replacing it. If the continuity of the materials is interrupted, the antena will become less efficient. You could try welding it, but it may be ineffective and more costly than just getting another one.
