There are allot of products on today's market to help. There are foods available with added digestive bacteria, such as yogurt. There are also powders found in the laxative isle to add to food and beverages. These all help, but one must be faithful about taking them on a daily basis. Exercise and diet can also help.

Eat plenty of fiber and drink plenty of water. Stop eatting white bread, buns, pasta's, etc. Only eat wheat or multi-grain bread. Eat lots of vegetables and fruits daily. For immediate help drink lots of orange juice and grape juice. You can also drink fiber drinks or fiber pills.

If you have chronic constipation your primary care physician can give you a prescription. Otherwise, drnink lots of water, if you can't drink water try some of the drinks advertised on tv which are as pure as possible. Also eat foods with fiber, and plenty of fruit and veg. Seems simple solution, but very frustrating condition.

Increase of water, keeping alcohol and caffeine to a minimum until the constipation passes. Over the counter laxatives should usually do the trick, ie. psyllium husks (found in products like Metamucil) and other bulking fibers should help. If you have a tolerance to grains, look for fiber products that contain flax, also helping with your Omega 3 intake.

Try making your diet healthier and more rounded out to get rid of constipation problems. Eat well-balanced meals, and try having a side of an enriched yogurt (like Yo-Plus) with each meal to give you a little extra help.

Drinking hot teas is a good treatment for constipation. Smooth move tea, particulary works well. It comes in a few different flavors (including chocolate) and can be consumed on an as needed basis. Great to have at night before bedtime. Teas (especially green tea) works more naturally and shouldn't have you running to the restroom too often.
