You can put the ribs on low in some kind of broth, water, or even beer as a seasoning. I would keep it on low for at least an hour.

When pre-cooking spare ribs in a crock pot, set the temperature on high and fill the crock pot with beef broth. Cook untouched for 3 or 4 hours.

Start three hours early on medium for slow, tenderizing cooking. Add onions, spices and herbs for a rich, thorough flavoring. Cook until tender, but not falling from bone. Good luck.

You just set the ribs in the pot along with enough water to cover the ribs, seasonings, a few cloves of garlic and some chopped onion. Let it set until the ribs are a good color (several hours), then pull them out, add your rub and barbecue them.

Fill up the crock pot with water and the spare ribs and let the ribs cook on low for at least 8 hours. Add a little olive oil and salt and pepper in the water to let the ribs simmer.

Place your spare ribs in the crockpot with your usual seasonings. Fill the crockpot with water and turn on low for about 8 hours, or you can turn it on high for about 4 to 5 hours. When they are ready drain your ribs and either grill or bake them.
