How do you make plum cherry pie?

My grandmother made the best plum cherry pie but I don't know how she did it.

Only your Grandmother could give you her secret, but personally I like to make the pie crust using half the usual quantity of flour and the other half made up with ground almonds, I cook the fruit with sugar, allow to cool, then assemble, before baking I scatter slivered almonds on top - delicious!

the trick to any good pie is the crust. ice water and ice cold butter are the secret, the plums are sweeter than the cherries, so go easy on the sugar. a little cornstarch mixed in with your cherry-plum and sugar while they cook, to thicken it. let it cool, pour it in the crust and bake.

While I can't give you her exact recipe, I can help you improve the pie. Make your own crust, either with butter or shortening, if you know which she used. Use fresh fruit, this is the key to improving the flavor.
