Measure and cut one piece of fabric into a 36-inch square. Cut out a 4-inch square from each corner of the fleece and discard. Measure and cut 4-inch long fringe slits, 1/2-inch apart, on each edge of the fleece blanket. Tie an overhand knot on the end of each fringe strip. These knots provide a play toy for your cat.

Its really easy to make a cat blanket using polar fleece material available at any fabric store. Fleece requires no sewing, and can be cut into decorative fringe on the edges. It also comes in many colors and patterns, including cat themed patterns such as paw prints.

There is a plethora of resources on the internet for patterns. Search for cat blanket patterns and include the method in your keywords, i.e., knitting, sewing, crochet, etc.

You can knit, sew, crochet or loom cat blankets by creating soft squares or circles with borders. The blanket should be about 18 inches square or 18 in diameter.

You can make a cat blanket by sewing, knitting, crocheting or looming a piece about 12 inches square. I like to crochet my cat blankets with an H hook and baby soft yarn. I make up simple patterns in the blankets, and I also use bright colors. My cats love them and I make them for charity, too.

You can skin some cats, shave cats, or buy cat fur from a store. After you acquire the cat component then you can then sew the hides together.

My cat loves micro plush fabric blankets. You can just buy two yards of micro plush fabric, cut to size, hem the edges and you have a blanket for kitty.

A pattern for a baby blanket might be an appropriate size for a cat. I think a cat might shred or unravel a knitted blanket, though.

Cat blankets are nice and easy to make. Cats like soft fluffy material so fleece is normally well received. To make one cut out a couple squares around 20 inches and put them right side together, stick a simple stich most of the way around it, turn it right-side out, fill it with a little pillow filling and stich up.
