It really comes down to personal preference. I suggest buying a few samples of some of the different shades and painting a small patch on your wall. This will allow you to view it with your decor and in the lighting of the room where it would be displayed.

Picking a shade of paint is very important. When choosing a shade of green paint you have to be careful. When trying to open the room up, to make it appear larger, you should always go with a lighter shade. When you're trying to close the space up always use darker colors.

I would suggest collecting the sample cards and comparing them in the area you want to paint. After you have narrowed it down to two or three purchasing sample cans and comparing them on the wall can be very helpful in making your decision.

Visit a local paint store and pick up some colour charts and tester pots - then test various shades in the actual setting the paint will be used in.

If you are trying to match an existing green, it is best to take a sampling to a paint store to have it color matched. If you are trying to make a selection of which shade, it is simply a personal choice.

If you are painting your home there are always a few good tips on helping you choose. Pick a shade that you like. If your home has dark floors it's probably best to use a middle to light shade of green. If your flooring is light and your trim is light you can use a darker shade.

You either hold different sample card up to your trim to see how it looks or paint a small square of a wall with a colors you like.
