Bulimia is characterized by bingeing and purging. A bulimic will eat a large amount of food and then disappear to vomit it up. Bulimics are often secretive about this.

They will show a sudden drop in weight and often leave the table for the bathroom right after eating. Also a telltale sign is suddenly they gorge themselves at the table. They will eat a LOT more than they used to, in order to make it easier to vomit later on.
