Cut a healthy, strong vine from existing vine, making sure it has buds on it. Dig holes for them, making them about 7" apart. Put vines in hole and cover with soil. Water newly planted vines. Add a grapevine food or fertilizer. Make sure there is a good drainage system.

Cordons can grow naturally off of an existing grape vine. At that point that they have grown off the main root, you can start growing the cordon somewhere else.

You need to get some root growth formula from your garden store. Then you cut a short piece of vine from an actively growing area and use the formula as directed

Take the root of the existing vine and root in a glass of water. When planting, choose an area that does not gather water naturally and water your grapes frequently.
