First get the child and dog accustomed to one another, let the dog sniff the child, approach it calmly, and do not stare at it's eyes. Make it sit or lie down for gentle petting, and always supervise the child and dog. Animals are creatures- they feel love and pain.

Accustom your dog to childlike behaviours by getting him used to loud noises. Drop pans on the floor and make a fun game out of it by praising the dog and giving him a treat. Also, praise for accepting to be touched on his face, ears, feet and tail.

It's difficult to child proof a dog, however the best thing to do is to introduce your dog to the fact that their will be another individual taking time away from them. The most important thing to do is never leave the child alone with the dog if you are unsure of how the dog will react to new company.

Do you mean childproofing like you would for a child? Just make sure things like plants are out of his way. Keep electrical cords away and keep dropped foods picked up because some human foods are dangerous to dogs.

Children should be watched at all times and never unattended with your pet. They need to be taught how to interact with an animal and how to respect it.
