It depends on where you get married. There is a lengthy process that starts with application for a visa, which must then approved and followed by additional petitions.

You must apply for the green card and there is an option for those marrying US citizens. There is a waiting period where you cannot work in the US and you have certain restrictions. Paperwork is very precise and you must make no errors.

While you can't apply until you are married, you can prepare your application- you need an affidavit of support, certified medical examination and other documents which you can find on the US Department of State website, or your own consulate. I apologize. Canadians shouldn't need a green card to be in our country. Long Live Canada! Bienvenue aux Etats-Unis.

Get married in the USA, stay in the USA, and file for permanent residency as soon as practical after your wedding. It is fairly easy, but expensive.
