How do you get wax stains off of baseball cards?

My brother thought it would be a good idea to put a red candle on top of my baseball cards and now they are stained.

Sadly, if the candle wax melted onto the card paper, then the card is ruined. If the card was laminated, then it should peel right off.

The first thing you should do is allow the wax to cool so you can peel the hardened wax from the cards. You can speed this process and possibly prevent more staining by freezing the cards. Finally, use a wax-removing compound available in many hardware stores.

Place one of the baseball cards between 2-3 sheets of newspaper. Iron with a warm (not hot) iron. Move the baseball card to a fresh area of newspaper frequently, so that the melted wax that is absorbed by the newspaper doesn't transfer to a new location.
