How do you get rid of piles?

I've had them since the end of my pregnancy. They are bleeding and painful.

After starting a new medication a few months ago, I developed a mild case of hemorrhoids. If you go down to your local health food store, they should carry Witch Hazel Bark. Brew it just as you would loose tea, or take a coffee filter and tie it up with some bark inside. Mine cleared up in two days.

Treating Hemorrhoids or "piles" can vary from over the counter measures to surgical intervention. As a preventative measure try and ward off constipation - which aggravates he condition - by getting enough fiber and water. Treat the area gently after a bowel movement with a wet wipe. Try using a cold compress. If piles continue to persist see your doctor.

Avoid constipation as that will aggravate and worsen them. Try a topical medication to shrink them and reduce pain. If these measures don't work, surgery may be necessary.

I had this problem when pregnant with my son. I highly recommend preparation H. It has a numbing effect and also helps heal them fast. It works great on piles. I also took some warm sitz baths using an inflatable bath ring to sit. The Preparation H is the best!
