There are two old time remedies that are claimed to get rid of cold sores fast. A wet aspirin is supposed to do the job quickly. The use of your own ear wax applied a couple of times a day is supposed to do the trick. There are on the market ointments and salves to make the sores disappear.

Check with a pharmacist and get a recommendation for an over-the-counter remedy. However, it is unlikely the sore will leave as quickly as two days. An antiviral drug called acyclovir can be obtained by prescription but this requires a doctor's approval. Until the cold sore is gone, do not kiss anyone!

A cold sore simply has to run it's course. Keep it dry. The faster it dries out the faster it will go away. You can also get a prescription antiretroviral from your Dr. This will shorten the duration slightly, but is most effective if taken in the first 24 hours.

Begin taking a B complex vitamin with some extra lysine. Don't do this for very long as it is dangerous to take B vitamins out of balance with each other.

See a doctor for a prescription medication and hope for the best. Over the counter medications will not work in 2 days.

There are a few different pharmaceutical ways to get rid of cold sores with applications, however cold sores are caused by a virus and will take some time to heal. Most effective treatments will contain salicylic acid.

You won't be able to get rid of any cold sore in 2 days. You can get it to start drying out, but that about all. There is a salve that the pharmacist can recommend that will start the drying process. Stay away from foods that are high in fat and acidity. And drink water not soda.
