Depending on the brand of GPS that you have, they should have map updates available for purchase on the dealers website. They typically require that you have an SD card to transfer the map pack onto, then to transfer onto your GPS. The process is rather quick. Some brands, you can even hook the GPS up directly.

It really depends on the BRAND of GPS you own. Some offer free map updates while others charge you to download or receive a memory card with updated maps. Should be in the manual if you still have it. Go to the brand names website, they should have information on how to update the unit there.

Well some player do let you update software but not knowing your brand or model I can't say exactly how to do so. Try looking on the manufacturer's site.

You will need to first go the the website of the manufacture of your GPS unit. After finding the site, type in the name or model of your unit in their search. Hook your GPS bia USB plug in and download whatever updates they have available for your GPS unit.
