How do you deal with a breakup from a long term relationship?

I had been dating my boyfriend for five years when I discovered he was doing drugs, as that is one of my breaking points I ended the relationship, however I am not dealing well with the breakup.

It's cliche, but time heals all wounds. Do POSITIVE things for yourself. Don't go out and over drink or sleep around. And try to see it as a period of rediscovery - you'll find out things about yourself you never would have imagined existed, I promise!

The best thing you can do is take care of yourself. You have already made one healthy decision and that was to leave the relationship. There is no easy way to get through a break-up but by focusing on positive things like your friends, your career or a special hobby, you will be able to move on slowly but surely.

Time will make things better. If you continue to have problems, seeing a therapist might also help. It is normal to have some difficulty after ending a long relationship.
