You need to consult with an experienced tailor. The best style of suit to buy is a classic style so it will always be in.

Visit a store that specializes and have the tailor find your fit. Then save some money and buy from a thrift store!

Look in a full length mirror and notice whether you need to emphasize height or width. If you need to look taller choose a single breasted suit. If you can afford a bit of extra width then choose a double breasted suit. Choose a color for the occasion.

For a professionally made suit, you need to go to a tailor so that he can get the measurements of your shoulders, inseam, waist, torso.

A good suit is going to cost you. I would suggest that you have professionally tailored to fit you. They will adjust the arms, cuffs, lapel, front around the stomach and length. Nothing is worse then a man in a suit that too big or too small. It might cost a little more, but its well worth it.

I am assuming this is a suit for a woman. You can always go to a department store where they have personal shoppers to help you, they offer great suggestions.
