How do you become a landed immigrant in Canada?

If you go there on vacation and decide to stay longer, then you are no longer a tourist. Your tourist status is converted over to immigrant status. I think that is how it is done.

A person must enter Canada legally. He or she must reside in the country for at least three years before applying for "landed" status. He or she must fit into one of three classes; economic, family or refugee or the other option is to be sponsored by a Canadian resident family member.
