If its a web mail account do this. Go to the web address of your email account provider. Then sign in with your user name and password. If you usually access your mail through a client like Thunderbird or Outlook, you can set up gmail to access your pop3 accounts. Then you can check it like any web mail account.

You type in the web address of the e-mail. If for example, your e-mail is hotmail, type www. hotmail in the web browser. That will bring up the hotmail log-in page. Type in your name and password, and voila, you can check your e-mail. This should work for other e-mail systems as well.

You would log on to the internet, go to your mail carrier's website. Log in with your user name and password and then you will have access to your mail.

Because email is not rooted in your computer and exists on the web stored in your email provider's server, you simply need to access this storage space. The simplest way is through a web browser, by logging into your email provider's site to your email.
