How do they make steel?

Well steel is an alloy metal meaning it is made up of other substances. Typically it contains iron and carbon but other materials are added depending on applications. All these ingredients are heated and fused together to make the metal. Then it is rolled out into large slabs.

Steel is made from iron and carbon. Iron comes from ore, a mineral, and it is smelted out of it. Carbon is usually coal or cokes.
