How do I troubleshoot a GE front load washer that is stuck on a cycle?

My washing machine is stuck on a cycle and I have no idea how to get it out.

The top of the washer that houses the cycle dial and wash cycle dial will need to be removed. Unplug the washer before you do this. There is something that is stopping the dial to move to the next stage. Make sure the area is clean and does not have debris stopping it. Manually try and move it.

Read the owner's manual to see if there are any particular issues that could arise for your model. Turn the cycle selector knob to the off position and re start the washer to see if it resets and runs completely through it's washing cycle.

The first thing you need to do is unplug the washer and let it set for about an hour in order for the computer to clear it self. Once you have done that plug it back in and try to run the cycle again, if that fails call your local GE service depot.

Sometimes letting the water drain out, then opening it and forcing it move forward can work, also resting by unplugging it and starting it over might help it move along. If these do not work call your local repair shop, dealer, or handyman and let his expertise help fix your washer.

Well, that happened to my machine as well. So I suggest you just wait it out. It actually takes longer than the time it says. So there is nothing wrong with your machine. it is just so common wtih the GE washers that I do not know what to tell you.
