How do I troubleshoot a front end humming noise coming from my car?

I have a Chrysler Cirrus.

Jack up the front part of the vehicle.Then rotate and shake up the rim to see whether a wheel bearing is misaligned .If any misalignment is foundbetter, consult a service station for better service.

The easiest thing to do is to rotate the tires. If the hum goes away you fixed it. Once the tires are off you can look at the brakes.

To check this, Jack your car up and raise its front. Then shake the tire up, down, left, right. This might fix the problem, if it doesn't, then there might be something else.

Jack up the front end of your vehicle. Shake the tire up and down to see if your have wheel bearing play. Shake left to right for tie rod play.

If you are having humming noises coming out of the front end of your car then you will need to take off the front bumper and examine and see what the problem may be. You should be able to fix the problem within hours and be able to put the bumper back on.

If you hear it when the car is running only try and see if it changes with higher RPM's, if it does its in the engine some where, bearing, waterpump......

If you have a Humming noise under your hood. It could be a number of problems. It could be a belt driven core or a damage part inside you engine. Thus you must locate the problem by using a stethescope while the engine is running and listening for extact location.
