If you just need to replace the ball bearings on the rear hub, remove the wheel from the bike, and take off the cassette. Next feel the inside of the hub to locate where you need bearings, replace the bearings and grease liberally.

You often just need to take them out and replace the seals and bearings. Then you should put it together and readjust the tension.

You can try to remove the hubs, pound them out and regrind them on a belt grinder but this would be very time consuming. If possible replace with after market parts.

Regular bike maintenance is very important to keep a healthy bike. To repair rear hubs simply take the bike wheel off and unscrew all the spoke nuts. This will allow you to slip the cap off and replace the hub. Reapply the screws and put the wheel back on the bike.
