How do I repair an ignition switch for my motorcycle?

I have a Honda CB650SC Nighthawk.

There is a pin under the switch. Remove the knob, and the fork lock assembly. Then should give you access to then remove the ignition switch to repair or replace.

You could do a lot of finicky wiring evaluation, or you could just take it out and replace it. Your manual can give you the proper part number and your guys at the part store can certainly guide you on the simple wiring involved to wire it in.

You need to figure out if its the switch or the igniter. If its just the igniter you only need to change the spark plugs. If its not the igniter make sure the wiring between the plugs and the switch are in good repair. Finally if it actually is the switch it comes right out and you replace it.

I used to have a Honda Custom CM400T, which has a very similar ignition switch as your CB650. I regularly needed to remove the ignition switch and sodder the ignition wire, as it often pulled away due to stress and torque on the bike.
