How do I prepare my 2-year-old child for a tooth extraction?

You want to make the experience as less painful as possible. Perhaps having the pediatrician sedate the child prior to the extraction. Be there for comfort.

You do nothing. Let the dentist do all of the talking. If you talk about it you will get your child worked up and crying before you get there.

There isn't much you can do to prepare your child. Tooth extraction is traumatizing for children this young. He is probably going to kick, scream and cry. If it helps, tell your child that you will get him a new toy or something if he's a big boy. Bribe shouldn't be used a lot but in this case it's acceptable.

First speak with the dentist to see if they are going to use gas to help relax your child, if so there is little to tell her.
