The Image Capture application can read most cameras; it can help if you have trouble uploading photos via iphoto or have trouble getting the camera read by the Mac. Image Capture can be found in the finder under the applications side bar. This application is already on most Macs so there is no need to download anything.

In order to make your camera function with a mac, you'll need to download and install the proper mac driver for your camera. You'll have to search online to find the right mac driver for your model of camera.

It is a very hard process when it comes to cybershot in order to make it compatible with the Mac. You would need to get the USB cable and attached it to the Mac in order to get both of the items in sync and if you still have you disc you can install it into the computer.
