Unplug the stator connector and place a volt meter across the wires in the combinations necessary for your vehicle. Resistance measurements should be the same for all of them.

The stator is just the inducted side of an induction electric motor. The electric coils in the rotor turn on and off rapidly making a magnetic field. This field will turn the stator frictionlessly, usually in a vacuum. Turn on the rotor... it will be very apparent (horrible noise) if the stator is damaged.

Start your bike and unplug the stator. It is the plug with three yellow wires. Then switch your voltmeter to a/c and check voltage between all three terminals.
