Yorkies can be hard to potty train. The best way is to find something that your yorkie has urinated on. Get day old newspaper and rub urine onto the papers to transfer the sent. This will attract your yorkie to urinate on the paper. Day by day more the papers closer to the door. Your dog will train very fast.

When the terrier goes in places he/she shouldn't, scold not in a rough way, but to let him/her know it's wrong. When went on right places, praise (maybe treats?).

The best way to do it is to take it out for a walk every few hours and if it takes a nap as soon as it wakes up make sure you take it out right away or if you see it sniffing around the tdges of walls or furniture you need to take it outside.

Be patient -puppies need to go every 2-4 hours. Usually after sleeping, playing, eating... so watch on that and take them every time where they are allowed to go.

Toy breeds are notoriously difficult to housetrain, so plan on a good 4-6 months of crate training. Check your bookstore or local library for how-to books on crate training.
