After you see that the turtle is comfortable in its new surroundings, offer it vegetables, tomatoes, worms, insects, or small fish. You may have to try a variety of food items before you figure out what your turtle likes. They do not always like the same things, and you might have to leave the turtle alone so it will eat.

the best way is to presnet him with a variety of foods and see what he/she will eat. some turtles like little fish, other prefer vegatables, others like grubs and inscects only trial and error will help you find what your turtle like s best.

You must first find out what species of turtle you have. Some species eat "meat" only such as worms, others eat plants, some eat both.

The turtle I found, it took a couple days to warm up to the environment. After the turtle warmed up, I left him alone to eat. If you were around, he would not eat. His favorite thing seemed to be slices of tomatoes and beats.

Put him in a nice glass cage and put a soft base then you can feed him some fresh vegetables.
