How do I fix steam coming out through the A/C vents?

I think the heater is broken or the hoses are out.

If the heating element is supplied by steam, then there is a hole in the coil. The coil must be patched or replaced. If you are running the air conditioner, and not the heat, then it could be condensation. This symptom would indicate a broken return air line pulling in extremely humid air i. e. attic.

If you are having steam coming out of the A/C vents then you will have to replace the vent. Your vent is not getting the air that needs to be put in.
