How do I determine the value of silver silverware?

I have a rather large collection of silverware that was passed down to me, I would like to determine the value of it. Could an antique shop let me know?

If I were you I would not take to a antique shop. Sometimes when they want to buy a product they will give a lessor value. I would recommend that you have it appraised by someone who is a professional, licesed, and have good feedback for other customers in his field. Hope this helps.

Yes, they can if they have a trained appraiser on staff. Best bet would be to see if you can find any markings on it to determine who made it and when first. If you just want the value and are not looking to sell, find a free lance appraiser instead.

An antique shop may be able to give you a value. Otherwise you may want to contact a antique appraiser in your area and have them look at it.

You can bring it to an Antique shop but know what you have. EPNS means plated as does double, triple and quadruple plate. Sterling is an indicator of solid silver. Look up the hallmarks and be knowledgable of what you have, before selling.
