Millimeters are 1/1000 of a meter, while centimeters are 1/100 of a meter. Say you have a number 678.9 millimeters. If you move the decimal one space to the left, you have 67.89 centimeters, which is 10 times the amount of millimeter ((10)(1/1000) = 1/100). My answer: Move the decimal to the left one space or multiply by ten.

It is really very simple to do a conversion from millimeters you start with the millimeter measurement, lets you have 1700 millimeters, then you divide that by 10, that comes out the the number 170. You have 170 centimeters. Another way would be to take the 1700 x 10% or 1700 x .10 = 170. Ten millimeters = one centimeter.

One centimet is ten milimeters, so it's easy to convert. If you have 50 millimeters, just move the decimal place over by one. So you have five centimeters. It's just that easy!

Ten millimeters are equal to one centimeter. You would basically move one decimal point to the left of the number. So, if you have 10.0 millimeters, moving one decimal point to the left would be 1.00, so one centimeter. 25 millimeters would become 2.5, so 2.5 centimeters.
