How difficult is brake drum removal?

My friend is offering to do the work to help me save money.

Assuming that the brake drums are not seized, it's not difficult at all. Usually tapping them with a hammer is enough to get the drums to loosen. If not, then most drums have a small 8mmx1.25 hole where you can thread a bolt to push the drum off the hub.

Well unless the car has been sitting for a really long time it should be pretty easy to do. Just be sure not to set the parking brake beforehand though. The pads can stick in some case but usually adjusting them in and tapping it with a hammer will free them.

Removing the drum itself is usually easy. Adjust the adjuster in to loosen them first. On older vehicles you may have to use a little force to get them off. Just remember to eave the emergency brake off or they will lock on.

It is pretty difficult to do, but once you have some experience it becomes easy. Basically you need to remove the drum by unclipping the wheel studs on your car. Use a cutter to do this.
