Low progesterone levels are common during pregnancy. During the first few weeks of pregnancy low levels may lead to miscarriage, as the hormone is required to sustain the tissue development. Symptoms may include spotting and cramping. A simple blood test can check the levels and if they are found to be low supplements may be taken to maintain proper levels.

It's common enough that many doctors know how to test for it, what levels are acceptable, and how to treat it. Not all doctors do however, so if your doctor is unwilling to help you get the tests (and possibly treatment) that you need then be sure to get a second opinion.

It is quite common. Some symptoms of low progesterone are mild bleeding and slight cramping in your lower abdomen. I would consult your OB/GYn for further help.
