The Human Papilloma Virus is very common. Most people carry it without even knowing it. HPV does not always cause problems; only some variations of the virus cause cervical cancer or other HPV diseases. The shot is a safeguard against several of the harmful forms of HPV.

About 27 percent of all females in the United States between the ages of 14 and 59 are infected with some form of HPV, with most cases occurring in women under 30. Males in the U. S. are thought to be infected at similar rates. If you are worried about the HPV vaccine, consult your daughter's pediatrician.

They say that one out of three people have some form. There are doctors out there that say that they aren't even giving it to their daughters though. "Safety"
