First, try to remove all you can with towels or baking soda if it is still even a little wet. Later, combine laundry soap and hydrogen peroxide and soak the cloth; wash with cold water and hope it comes off. Good luck!

The easiest way to remove red wine is to mix a teaspoon of dish soap and a cup of hydrogen peroxide. Just pour and dab with a clean towel.

Wine is easiest removed if tackled immediately. Rinse cloth with cold water, bloting stain over toweling. When this has eliminated what it can, apply a mixture of peroxide, dishwashing soap and water. Soak cloth for awhile, then lightly rub mixture into stain and rinse with cold water. Repeat as necessary, peroxide will break down the wine stain.

As silly as it may sound a good way to remove red wine is to cover the stain with white wine.
