How can I use acrylic to encase a keepsake?

Is that something I can do myself?

Well, you can do this yourself, but it will take a lot of time. Why don't you just use acrylic paint to encase the keep sake. Use fine tipped paint brushes that will allow you to create the marks that you would like. But of course, you run the risk of error. Consult a professional if perfection is important.

Acrylic is type of paint and is easy to find at hardware stores. There are various ways to use it and would depend on your exact project. You would more than likely want to use clear acrylic.

You can buy liquid acrylic and do it yourself but the odor is hazardous to your health and it is very hard stuff to work with also you have to have a mold to pour it into or it will go everywhere my advice would be to have a professional do it for you.

Yes, you can do that by yourself. Try to get a refill pen in which you can put the acrylic in. This will allow you to encase the keep sake yourself. If not you can get it done for you at any mall. They will do it under 20 dollars.

You can buy resin/acrylic for home use at your local craft store. Place the memento in something for best results. Mix the resin according to the package directions and pour over the object. Blow on any bubbles to break them; otherwise, they're permanent. If your keepsake is deep, pour thin layers and let each dry before adding the next.

You can buy kits at craft stores or online. I got Clear Casting Epoxy. Then you need a mold that is deeper and wider then the item. Follow the instuctions for mixing the resin and hardener. Pour about 1/2 or less of the epoxy in mold. Let set a min. or2, add item, cover w/epoxy. Let set

Yes! Create a mold large enough to hold the keepsake. Buy acrylic in a sheet that you melt down at home. Pour the molten acrylic into the mold half way, rest the keepsake in it, then pour to fill the remaining space. When your done the keepsake will float freely.
