Make sure you warm up before you get there. You should prepare 16 measures of an audition piece that shows off your range. Stay away from pop music.

You could get a singing coach and practice. The singing coach can prepare you for your college voice auditions. They can hear the pitches in your voice that you are doing. They can tell you what sounds good and what to work on.

Take a walk man, play the song that you'll sing in the auditions. Listen to it,try getting it's pace - fast or slow and catch the rythm. Humm the song with the earplugs on. Pronounce the lyrics simultaneously with the song. Then sing without the earplugs. Get tested by your family members or friends and you are done.

Obviously, some natural ability is a prerequisite. Even seasoned singers should remember that voices should be exercised to keep in shape. Practice often and gargle with warm salt water.

Practice everyday as much as possible. Gargle two to three times a day with warm water with salt in it. Avoid cold things like ice cream or cold drinks. Listen to the voices you like the most.
