New slimline model of the PS2 includes built-in support for online gaming. In older version of the PS2, purchase a PS2 Online Adapter.

You will need to buy an internet adaptor for your Playstation 2 if it is an older model. Newer models do not need them. However, they do not have built-in wifi capability, so you will have to buy a third-party wireless adaptor or use the ethernet port on the back of newer PS2 models.
