Cereal grains are very high in Phosphorus and low in calcium.Alfalfa has 5 times the amount of calcium than phosphorus. You can mix alfalfa pellets or beet pulp in to bump up the calcium.Check out soybean meal-not hulls.I cant remember for sure, but that might be higher in calcium too.

Yes you can. Horses need a balanced diet that includes lots of fiber, from sources such oats or barley and fresh ingredients such apples and carrots and fresh green hay or grasses. Make sure that if you use fresh ingredients that you don't store it for to long.

To make a sweet feed for horses, you should mix oats, wheat, feed corn and molasses, if you would like you could also add sugar.

You need to make sure you are feeding the correct vitamin/mineral content so you dont mess up your horses bones amoungst other things.Especially inportant is the delicate calcium to Phosphorus ratio.Idealy it is 2 parts calcium to 1 part phosphorus for the TOTAL diet. What hay you use makes a difference!

You need to be careful when mixing your own horse feed. Horses need a certain amount of nutrients and vitamins so you need to make sure they'll be getting all of that if not eating any commercial horse feed. Do research on how to do it before attempting to make it yourself.

This is alot of work and very costly. You just don't throw grains together. You buy grains from the feed store and mix them with a hammermill.
