How can I increase my speed on a 40 yard dash?

Speed is all about stride length per time. If you can stride longer in the same time, you'll run faster. Concentrate on doing plyometric exercises that focus on squats and working the legs. In about a month you should see a difference in speed.

You should start off at a moderate pace and save your energy towards the last part of the dash. And then use all your energy and spurt at the end.

Wind Sprints, obviously training practicing the 40 yard dash over and over. Doing leg exercises aka squats, lunges, leg extensions, hamstring curls.

1)Probably the best exercise is stair running. 2)bounding improves overall leg power and enhance stride length. It requires that you run at a moderate pace, but drive the front knee upward so that the thigh reaches a parallel position with the ground. 3)jumping rope is also exercise
