How can I improve the performance of XP Home?

My XP home runs very slow.

You can always use a program called CCleaner to clean old files and folder out and that will help with the speed. Also you can upgrade your RAM and that will help greatly in the slow department. Also you can make sure you don't have to many programs running in the background.
