Make sure that all of the moth balls are removed from your house. No amount of cleaning will mask the smell if the source isn't removed. From there you should do a thorough cleaning. Where the mothballs laid (with bleach), the surrounding area (same), the carpets (carpet fresh), the furniture (Febreeze), and the air (odor neutralizing air freshener).

Charcoal does wonders. Place a couple pieces of charcoal all over the affected areas. Another thing that works to get rid of smells is backing soda.

My favorite thing to help any smell, at least for a short, is Oust Air Freshener & Sanitizer or open up your windows to air out.

I like to use febreeze to get rid of the smell of moth balls. I think it really does work because not only does it smell good, it keeps the smell away.

A few ways to remove a smell of moth balls is to take a glass container of onions and sit it in the center of the most offensive room. Also you could use a jar with a solution of vinegar and a few ounces of mens hair tonic. vitalis.
