Keep busy and keep in touch. Keeping busy leaves less time to mope, so try taking on a project (a fitness goal, a course) that will last until the next time you meet. Keeping in close touch will make you feel more connected to each other. Long distance can get expensive, so try daily emails, Twitter, or real love letters.

The simplest way to deal with this is to make a plan with each other to move closer to one another. Take into account, though, will the stress of the relationship get better with proximity? Because if it is not then it may not be worth it. Make sure to be open and honest. Communication is key.

Consider it an opportunity to develop interdependence (that is, both reliance upon and independence from one another). It will be important to have activities in your own life that are rewarding and engaging. At the same time, communication is essential to keep the relationship alive. Communication can be maintained via phone, email, IM, text, webcam, etc. And visit often!

Talk with this person and understand weather or not their committed to you. It is very comforting to know that the one you love IS coming back. Take time to have a nice chat with them, e-mail each other photos, keep in touch. Also try busying yourself with something else.
