Have there been any big issues with Caravan brakes?

I have had a lot of trouble with mine.

Not really but that could just be the case with the particular model that you purchased so go to the garage.

Caravans often get left alone for some time between uses - so make sure you check the brakes before taking it out on the road. Check brake pads/drums for wear and ensure fluid reservior is topped up and cables are fitted correctly.

i have had no issues with my caravan brakes. the secret to a great break is checking of the axle and drum every 3 months.

The Dodge Caravan has been one of the most reliable minivans in history. In the owner's manual, they suggest that you replace the brake pads every 35,000 miles. If you go more than this, you'll have to replace the rotors too. If you follow their directions, you should be alright.
