Even if you had a bad mother, should you honor her?

I always feel bad on Mother's Day no matter what I do. My mother was a bad mother.

No matter how bad a mother she was you should do her some honor just for the simple fact that she gave you life. I've walked in your shoes and know exactly how you feel. Do this for yourself so that you don't have regrets later in life.

Yes, even if she told you that you were a mistake, it's better to show respect on most occasions than to suffer the guilt trip she'll put you on if you do not.

At then end of the day, without her you would never have been brought into the world so even if you feel resentment that is something to be thankful of.

I am 51 years old and have accepted the fact that my mother is a sneaky, conniving, two-faced person. I don't trust her any further than I can throw her - she has divided my siblings and I for years. I respect her, but don't trust her.

Remember that as your Mother, she is part of you. A big part of what you are came from her as well as your total experience with her.
