Does white wine have more calories than red wine?

It tastes sweeter; does it have more sugar, and therefore more calories than red wines?

If you are drinking a sweet wine, then the white wine has slightly more calories than the red wine. However, if you are not drinking a sweet wine, the opposite holds true. The unsweetened white wine has less calories than the red wine would have. So it all depends if the wine is sweetened or not.

Generally yes, four ounces of white wine, is about five calories less then red wine. BUT, calories really depend on the alcohol content, the higher that is, the more calories.

Not necessarily. Calorie count depends more on residual sugar. A dry red wine will have fewer calories than a sweet white like a Sauternes, for instance.
