There are five branches of the U.S. military. Each one has different sign-on bonuses. Generally, these bonuses are given for personnel who are a) re-enlisting and/or b)are highly skilled in areas where personnel is needed at any given time. There is no across-the-board monetary reward for enlisting. A recruiter in the specific service has details.

It depends on certain factors. If a specific branch of the military is trying to recruit people to certain jobs they will offer bonus for those specific jobs. So if you qualify for a job that they have a great need for and are currently offering a bonus for that job then you get a bonus.

A signing bonus is given for specific skills for various positions in the different branches of the military. There is no across-the-board enlistment bonus.

Sign on bonuses are used to recruit, or retain military members, for difficult or hard to place positions. Contact your local recruiter as each branch of service has different requirements.

Certain branches do, yes. Not all MOS fields will be offered a signing bonus though, due to the heavy population of the specific MOS.

Depending on the job and how long you are enlisted for, or will enlist. The bonus varies on amount of money as well as amount of time willing to continue with your service.

Enlistment bonuses are commonly offered by all branches of the U. S. military. The exact amount varies tremendously, however, and is often influenced by the branch chosen, the qualifications of the potential recruit, the length of enlistment, and the job that the recruit will do in the military.

I am not sure if all branches of the military give sign-on bonuses, but my son did receive a bonus when he joined the National Guard.
