Most crime has a statute of limitations, which varies by state, crime and federal law. As long as a crime can be prosecuted, extradition efforts are valid.

This would depend on your offense. Extradition and rendition between the US States recognizes no time limit, unless the statute on your offense has expired, and most states are getting rid of statutes of limitations for heavy offenses. For outside the US, consult your consul.

Not really, but kind of. It depends on what county, country and city you are currently residing in. In most places, there is no time limit or discretion. Now in a select few states, like Texas. You are subject to laws that govern extradition, which means they can limit at their own discretion.

Once criminal charges have been filed and an arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect, statutes of limitations no longer apply. Extradition is simply the process of one nation surrendering a suspect to another; it is not subject to statutes of limitations.

Many crimes have a statute of limitations. If the SOL has run out on a particular crime, charges cannot be filed and extradition is not an issue.

Extradition or rendition depends on the offense, depends on the state, etc. Nowadays, thankfully, there are no limitations on murder or sexual offenses. Some guidelines can be found under Article IV sec 2 of the Constitution, Title 18 Sec 3182 of the US Code, or the Uniform Criminal Extradition Act of which most States are party. Consult an attorney.

Not really. If they want you they will find a way to get you back where they need to. Sometimes it costs to much and they just don't do it but most of the time they will extradite you.
