Does Sevindust harm dogs?

I have heard it is good to get rid of fleas, is that true?

5% Sevin dust (Carbaryl) worked pretty well for our flea-ridden cats umpteen years ago, but I notice the EPA has agreed to delete "use on dogs & cats" on Carbaryl labels. I assume this is because problems have been noted, so I wouldn't use it on pets anymore.

Sevindust can harm dogs and other animals due to the harsh chemicals involved within the product. Sevindust is also harmful to children and adult sif not used properly. It is advisable to use sevindust only where animals and people do not frequently roam. Sevindust can cause sickness or death if ingested.

Sevindust's main ingredient is carbaryl, a neurotoxin; therefore as with any poison, owners must follow the instructions carefully. If used correctly for flea prevention, it does not harm dogs.

The active ingredient in sevin dust is carbaryl, which is the active ingredient in flea powder. Some years ago it was considered a safe way to rid pets of fleas. It is, however, a poison that dogs can ingest when licking themselves and it can harm your dog. Use commercial flea remedies from your vet and avoid sevin dust.

Yes Sevindust can harm dogs and possibly kill them if they ingest enough. What you should do is put it down and allow it to sit for about 24 hours prior to letting any animals in the area.

Well it can depending on how sensitive your dog's nose is. It can get rid of fleas but perhaps the best cleanser on the market is home made vinegar. Vinegar can help keep pests at bay and it is especially good for the dog's coat.It helps shine the coat as well.

Whenever you want to use a product not meant for dogs you should check with your vet first. Dawn dishsoap kills fleas and doesn't harm dogs.

The old 5% formula can be used directly on animals but it is no longer for sale. The current formula is recommended for plants, trees and lawns.
